Jackson County Public Administrator John Killian was recently appointed to The Missouri State Advisory Council.

The council serves as an advisory body to the Division of Behavioral Health in the development, funding, prevention, public understanding, and coordination of specialized services for people with mental health and substance use disorders.

Killian said, “For me, since the office serves over 1,000 clients, many of whom have either or both a mental health or substance use disorder, this is a great opportunity to influence policy and advocate for more effective social services. To the ultimate end of improving our clients’ lives.”
