The Historic Truman Courthouse in Independence will close at 3 p.m. Thursday and be closed Friday, August 30 through Monday, Sept. 2 because of the SantaCaliGon Festival in downtown Independence.
Jackson County Offices will be closed September 2 in observance of Labor Day.
8 – 11 a.m: Open to previously scheduled appointments, seniors, & physically disabled individuals. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m: Open to scheduled appointments and walk-ins as time permits. Schedule an appointment through Qless or by coming into the office.

Jackson County will hold delinquent tax sales in August of 2024. The sale at the Eastern Jackson County Courthouse in Independence will begin Monday, August 12, 2024 and possibly last until Friday, August 16, 2024. The sale at the Jackson County Courthouse in Kansas City will begin Monday, August 19, 2024 and possibly last until Saturday, August 23, 2024. More information can be found here.
