The Special Assessment Unit is responsible for the administration of tax abatements and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) issued by other jurisdictions within Jackson County.

They also manage real and business personal property tax exemptions for religious, charitable and educational (schools/colleges) use within Jackson County. Unfortunately, Jackson County does not offer any exemptions for individual property owners.
