Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr., and his counterpart from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, make freely wager on Chiefs-Steelers' AFC playoff game to benefit local food banks.
KANSAS CITY, MO (Jan. 12, 2017) – Jackson County Executive Frank White, Jr. and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald have engaged in a friendly wager on the outcome of Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers matchup. Following the game, County Executive White and his staff will serve at the Kansas City Community Kitchen while County Executive Fitzgerald will deliver the donations made at county buildings to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Both officials will wear the jersey of the winning team and will post photos on social media of their efforts to address food security in their county.
“Jackson County has total confidence in a Chiefs victory over the Steelers on Sunday. But whatever the outcome of the game, we are proud to serve those in our community who lack the resources needed for food security,” said White.

“We’re proud of our Pittsburgh Steelers and look forward to a convincing win over the Chiefs in Kansas City on Sunday,” said Fitzgerald. “Even though we hope that County Executive White will be wearing a Steelers jersey in the near future, he and I both know that the real winners will be the individuals and families which benefit from the work of our local food banks and soup kitchens. We look forward to seeing the support our fans show through their donations to these groups.”
The Pittsburgh Steelers will meet the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round Game in Kansas City at 12:05 p.m. CT on Sunday, January 15, 2017.
