Purpose

In 1996 voters approved an one-eighth on one cent sales tax for the restoration of Kansas City's Union Station and the creation of a Metropolitan Culture District.

Composition

• The district is to be governed by a commission whose membership is to include a member of the governing body of each county which is part of the district.
• The County Legislature appoints 1 member.
