Jackson County Offices Reopen May 18

Effective May 18, 2020, Jackson County offices in the Jackson County Courthouse at 415 E. 12th Street in Kansas City and the Historic Truman Courthouse at 112 W. Lexington in Independence will be reopened to the public in a limited capacity. In an effort to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, public visitors to those buildings will be required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing of at least six feet, and public occupancy will be limited. Anyone wishing to contact or conduct business with the County is strongly encouraged to do so by phone, email, fax, or regular mail.

Collections

Jackson County Collection Department offices in the Jackson County Courthouse at 415 E. 12th Street in Kansas City and the Historic Truman Courthouse at 112 W. Lexington in Independence will be reopened to the public in a limited capacity. Taxpayers needing assistance from the Collection Department can email collections@jacksongov.org or call 816-881-3232. Many questions can be answered by visiting the Collections page. As a reminder, taxpayers can pay their property taxes online, by mail, or by using exterior drop boxes located at the Jackson County Courthouse at 415 E. 12th Street in Kansas City or Historic Truman Courthouse at 112 W. Lexington in Independence.

Recorder of Deeds

Jackson County Recorder of Deeds office in the Historic Truman Courthouse at 112 W. Lexington in Independence will be reopened to the public in a limited capacity. The Recorder of Deeds office in the Jackson County Courthouse at 415 E. 12th Street in Kansas City will remain closed to the public at this time. Anyone wishing to contact or conduct business with the Recorder of Deeds office is strongly encouraged to do so by phone, email, fax, or regular mail.
