Celebrate Armed Forces Day at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark

Jackson County Parks + Rec invites you to spend Armed Forces Day celebrating 200 years of the American soldier when it presents an “American Military Timeline” at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark, Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21.

Sunday, May 21; 9:00 am - 2:30 pm

Fee:                 Adults: $8.00, Youth: $4.00, Seniors: $4.00

Celebrate Armed Forces Day at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark

Jackson County Parks + Rec invites you to spend Armed Forces Day celebrating 200 years of the American soldier when it presents an “American Military Timeline” at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark, Saturday, May 20 from  9 am – 4:30 pm; and Sunday, May 21 from 9 am – 2:30 pm. 

The Fort was established as a military post and trading factory by legendary explorer William Clark in 1808 and played a pivotal role in early American westward expansion. Visitors will hear from a reenactor portraying Captain Eli Clemson, the Commander of the Fort from 1808-1813, and explore encampments and exhibits featuring reenactors portraying soldiers from the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, and World War II. 

Fort Osage is located at 107 Osage Street, Sibley, Mo.  Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for youths and seniors.  For more information, visit www.makeyourdayhere.com.
